★★★★★

As a professional dog trainer for the past 17 years, I know firsthand how hard it is to keep high-energy dogs truly busy. I've spent three months testing the top dog toys with my high-energy Golden Retriever because most toys completely miss the mark on actually tiring him out. A quick game of fetch with a basic ball burns 10 minutes before he's bored, chew toys keeps him occupied but barely raises his heart rate, and most "high-energy" toys on the market are really just marketing since they don't hold a dog's attention long enough to make a dent in their energy levels.

For each toy, I tracked how long it kept my dog engaged and how worn out he was afterward. I also watched how quickly he crashed for a nap once playtime ended. Five toys stood out for actually delivering a real workout, physically and mentally, and one completely changed how exhausted my dog is by dinner time.

#1 Dog Toy in 2026

RowdyBall Herding Ball solves the biggest problem with high-energy dogs — burning off serious energy without needing a human involved the whole time.

Most toys require constant throwing or supervision to keep a dog engaged. The RowdyBall flips that: dogs push, nose, and chase it on their own, often for hours, making it especially popular for high energy dogs that need to constantly be doing something. It's tough enough to survive paws, teeth, and rough yards, and comes in sizes for everything from a Corgi to a Great Dane.

It's built tough for daily use. And it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can test it and see if your dog loves it.
